LOVE ....Our Greatest Life Lesson

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy;
Love does not parade itself; is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own,
is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice
in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things,
believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
                      (1Corinthians 13:4-6)

LOVE is a core human emotional need.  We need loving relationships. LOVE of a parent. LOVE for a child. LOVE of a friend.  Romantic LOVE. LOVE for a Higher Spiritual Presence.

If LOVE is an unselfish and giving emotion, why do we get it wrong?  If we walked in LOVE would there be war, child abuse, crime, unemployment, poverty, dogmatic religious intolerance, manipulation, envy, etc.

These LOVE errors have existed for centuries upon centuries.  Do these adversaries exist as a reminder that we have yet to get ONE of our greatest lessons ---- LOVE?

LOVE is our greatest desire.  Some strive for love and hold on for dear life.  Others run from LOVE preferring casual and distant relationships.

LOVE requires you to put another first.  Yet, the 'ITS ALL ABOUT ME' philosophy prevails in many marriages/relationships today.  Sending many to divorce court.

LOVE exposes YOU.  LOVE requires you to drop the mask.  Your weaknesses revealed.
Making you vulnerable to opinion, possible rejection or manipulation.

LOVE doesn't give guarantees.  You can give the best LOVE you got, only to be betrayed and/or left.

Despite being a LOVING parent, a child might choose to go down the wrong path in life.

We are called to walk in LOVE.  Despite what may or may not happen.  Trust that the reward is in your soul growth.  It takes courage to LOVE despite the adversaries of life.  The great rewards of LOVE far outweigh it all.

Start with the person in the mirror LOVE yourself.  The LOVE we resonate within will resonate out into the world. Then give LOVE freely to people around you.

As a result, the world will chip away at those adversaries that keep us from the lesson of living the spirit of LOVE.
